News from 2010
Today I was invited to judge 4 classes of Beagles for Falkirk & District CS so my mum and I drove to bonny Scotland.
My BOB was Jill Hill’s lovely tan & white bitch Dapperdawg Heart of Kaos JW aka ‘Fudge’ who was also Group 2 and my BP was Fiona Kelly’s lovely tri dog Dapperdawg Forbidden Isle aka ‘Rhum’ who was awarded Puppy Group 1.

The Beagle Association held its champ show at Tomlinson’s boarding kennels near Markfield so a much shorter drive this year to last.
I’d entered Holly, Molly and Honey today under the bitch judge Mrs Margaret Joyce from Australia. Holly was first up and was placed 4th in Novice. Molly and Honey were both entered in Open and to my delight Molly was placed 3rd.

Today was Scottish BC Champ show and our judge was Mr Wal Westren ‘Deanery’ who had come over from Ireland to judge.
Holly was first up in Puppy and was placed 3rd qualifying her to go to Crufts 2011; she was also in Novice and was placed 2nd. A photo of Holly is below. Molly was making a rare appearance at the show as she hadn’t been to a show for a while and to my delight was placed 2nd in Open behind the RCC winner. A photo of Molly is below.

Birmingham National Championship show was held today at Stafford. Holly (Orchidvale Flamboyant) made her debut and although she wasn’t placed in her class I was pleased with the way she performed, a few pics are below.
Honey was next up in Open bitch and was placed 3rd behind the CC & RCC winners. Honey is pictured below too. With thanks to our judge Mr Colin Ashmore for Honey’s award.
Today I was invited to judge Beagles at Border Counties Hound open show over in Salt Ayre.
My BOB came from the Limit class, Closes’ Sparrowgill Statesman a lovely sound tri dog who was pushed hard by his kennel mate Closes’ Fallowfield Daisy May. She was awarded RBOB and my BP was Ravells American Star at Bitcon.

Today was Sunderland & District Canine societies open show held at Houghton Le Spring. Our judges for the day were Miss Hermione Peach “Pakowhai” (bitches), Mr Rowan Ford “Heeplyn” (dogs) and our group judge Ms Serena Parker “Serenaker”.
I had entered Molly and Honey, unfortunately Honey couldn’t go as she was in season. Molly showed her socks off for me as she always does and to my delight was awarded 1st in Open bitch, Best Bitch, BOB jointly declared by both breed judges and finally Group 2!! She also won a variety class and was 2nd in the stakes.

Today I travelled to Humberside Hound Associations open show in Hull but without any dogs, as I was the judge for the day. I had a lovely entry of Beagles who were all present.
My BOB came from the PG class, Peterson & Banks’ Tatooine Zhar At Troopersway JW, a lovely tan & white boy who was shortlisted to the final 7 for BIS. RBOB Parker & Stevens’ Serenaker Devine Devil. My BP, Parker & Stevens’ Serenaker Foxtrot pulled out all the stops to be awarded BPIS, his 2nd in two weeks.

Today Lynn and I made the trip to Hound Association of Scotland at Kelso, one of our closer championship shows where our judge for the day was breed specialist Mr Jeff May “Janfrey” who is the husband of our Crufts judge.
Again only Honey was entered today and to my absolute delight she was awarded 1st in Open bitch and then the BCC taking here total to 5CC’s!! To round things off Lynn and Seamus won the DCC!!

March is the time of year when all the top dogs in this country and others make the long trip to Crufts at the NEC Birmingham.
Although all of the girls qualified to go to Crufts I decided to only take Honey with me. Our judge for the day was breed specialist Mrs Jane May “Janfrey”. After a long wait, we were in one of the last classes of the day, Honey was placed 3rd in an open class of 18.

Today Billingham Synthonia Canine Club held an open show at Temple Park and our judge for bitches was Miss Lynn Bailey (Salenko).
Izzy was first up in Graduate and was placed 1st then Molly was in Open and was placed 2nd.

This weekend Northern & Midland Counties Beagle Club held their open show at Shirland and although I wasn’t feeling well Lynn kindly drove me to the show so I could watch.
I’d entered Honey and Brian handled her to win Open bitch, Best bitch and finally Best in Show!!

Breskar By Design aka Ermie gave birth to her first litter of puppies a few days ago. She has 3 healthy puppies, a broken tri dog, a broken tri bitch and a blanket tri bitch. All babies and mother are doing well.
Congratulations to the Pye family on the new arrivals.
Orchidvale Morning Dew, who is a half sister to Molly and Izzy, was mated to CH Super Capricorn of Laurins Empire at Stormpasture JW ShCm last year and she gave birth to a lovely litter of 7 promising puppies.
From this litter a tri colour bitch was chosen to stay at Orchidvale and has been named Holly. She will hopefully hit the show ring at Birmingham National in May and will be owned in partnership and shown by myself.
